18 AND UNDER (18U MIDGET)
ABOUT THIS DIVISION
Born in Year: 2008, 2009, 2010
Ages (as of January 1st, 2026): 15-17 (18 for female athletes)
The 18U "AA" is our House division and is open to all players 15-17 as of January 1 of the baseball year you are registering to play. Players who are 18 of January 1 of the baseball year also have the option of registering for 18U AA (house), subject to some restrictions which are detailed in the BC Baseball rule book. Contact the registrar prior to registering if you fall into this category.
At the 18U level, the base paths are set at 90 feet and the pitching distance is 60½' (i.e., a full-sized baseball diamond). A regulation game is 7 innings. However, a new inning cannot be started more than 2 hours 15 minutes after first pitch and games may be shortened due to weather or light conditions. Base runners are permitted to lead off, balks are called, and the dropped 3rd strike rule is in effect.
The 18U division is tiered. Players may try out for the "AAA" team which offers a more competitive level of play. These teams will play similar level teams from other associations. Players not selected to the "AAA" teams will be selected to one of the "A" teams which offer a more recreational level of play and less commitment of time.
