ABOUT THIS DIVISION

Born in Year:  2000 - 2007
Ages (as of January 1st, 2026): 18-25 (26 for female athletes)

 

The 26U Junior Men's division is about giving young men ages 18 to 25 the opportunity to continue playing high-level Travel team baseball comparable to in between AA/AAA level.  Travel across the Lower Mainland is required to play against teams from other Associations.  Anyone returning home for the summer after playing College or University ball are encouraged to join, as it is competitive baseball.  Team roster sizes are slightly larger as commitment is not 100% and more casual at this level.

The season goal is to qualify for BC Minor Baseball Provincials which is typically played in mid August.

 

SEASON DATES

This is a single season wood bat league, with games starting in May and running until late July with the possibility of BC Provincial Championships in mid-August for those who qualify.

 

GAMES AND PRACTICES

Games are predominantly played on Wednesdays and Sundays with possible deviations for weather, etc.  A typical season consists of 20+ games.

 

DIVISION RULES

  • Base paths are set at 90 feet
  • Pitching distance is 60½' (ie. a full-sized baseball diamond)
  • Lead offs and stealing are allowed
  • "9-man ball" and/or batting order format allowed at coaches' discretion
  • Wood, bamboo, wood composite bats only
  • Games are 9 innings, with a minimum of 7 innings in the event of a mercy
  • Fair play rules are in effect, where each player must get at least one at bat and play three defensive innings in the field
  • Balks may be called on pitchers
  • Running to 1st base on a dropped 3rd strike is allowed (only if 1st is unoccupied)
